The awarding of a Prize or a Grant does not give the recipient the status of an employee or contractor at the Osteoarthritis Foundation.

The Prize or Grant winner agrees to endorse and fulfill his or her statutory obligations related to the awarding of the Prize or the Grant, including those of a fiscal nature.

The Belgian law of May 7, 2004 related to experiments on human people specifies in detail the conditions to be fulfilled in order to carry out an experiment on the human person. The recipient undertakes to comply with these conditions.
